چکیده

This paper describes TCP/IP communication blocks in the program MATLAB/Simulink. The new developed Simulink blocks and detailed instructions for building them are described here. This server and client blocks enable Simulink models to communicate with remote applications, devices over TCP/IP communications. A very similar functionality (more complex) is provided by the TCP/IP block in the Instrument Control Toolbox offered by MathWorks as closed-source software. Key-Words: Simulink, communications, TCP/IP, client, server

The role of Matlab and Simulink in teaching communications

This paper describes the use of the Matlab and Simulink © environment in the process of teaching and learning digital communications. Communications, unlike networking, requires knowledge from many more disciplines, furthermore they all require some mathematical background. The number of component blocks in communication systems can be large unlike TCP/IP networking which sits below socketbased...

Design and Control of a Flight-Style AUV with Hovering Capability

The small flight-style Delphin AUV is designed to evaluate the performance of a long range survey AUV with the additional capability to hover and manoeuvre at slow speed. Delphin’s hull form is based on a scaled version of Autosub 6000, and in addition to the main thruster and control surfaces at the rear of the vehicle, Delphin is equipped with four rim driven tunnel thrusters. In order to red...

Development of a Photovoltaic Array Emulator in a Real Time Control Environment Using xPC Target

This paper is devoted to the design and construction of a photovoltaic array emulator for high power applications in order to test all kind of photovoltaic inverters. To develop such device, a rapid prototyping tool based on xPC Target of Matlab/Simulink has been used, providing a real-time testing environment. PV array emulator can be used to evaluate the performance of photovoltaic inverters ...

Real-time Remote Network Control of an Inverted Pendulum Using St-rtl

1 School of Engineering Science and Design, Glasgow Caledonian University, G4 0BA Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Abstract This paper describes the use of Simulink Target for Real-Time Linux (ST-RTL) to control over a network a horizontal driven inverted pendulum. ST-RTL is an application developed to provide a cost-effective alternative to the expensive real-time applications that require specialised s...

Studying an SoC with Virtual Self-timed Blocks using MATLAB Simulink

In order to increase the power efficiency of IP cores in an SoC, a Self-timed Event Processor (STEP) is modelled and designed in our previous research to provide power management and event handling for each IP core in a frame of Virtual Self-timed Block (VSB). This paper presents the construction of an example SoC with four VSBs in MATLAB Simulink where a test bench named as “ball game” was imp...
